Travellers with their own horse can also benefit from qualified lessons. In this way, a holiday with the own horse can be combined with the opportunity for further education. And those who really want to unwind have the opportunity to enjoy horseback rides in the near forest area or swim with their horse in Kellersee lake. This is possible on Immenhof horses as well as on own horses, with expert guidance or alone (at least if you have brought your own horse).

But what would Immenhof be without the ponies? Six ponies live in a stable area right on the estate. The Dartmoor pony, a Tinker pony and four Shetland ponies are the children's favourites. There are various programmes, including "test lungeing" and "pony walks". It is always important that the child and the pony are a match. All activities take place under expert guidance, and riding is only done with a proper riding helmet. The little ones also learn that a pony has to be groomed and cared for. The kids are involved in getting the ponies ready, and they are also allowed to help with the feeding and stable work.

Other sporting activities can also be enjoyed around the Immenhof: long bike tours, swimming in Kellersee, canoeing or stand-up paddling are as much a part of it as yoga or fitness with lake-view. This guarantees that even non-riding fellow travellers won’t feel bored.

And for those who need to relax after so much sport, there is the spa area, which has been lovingly installed in the old lungeing hall. Sauna, various massages, relaxing by the fireplace or on the sunbathing lawn ensure ultimate well-being before heading to one of the restaurants in the evening.

For horse lovers, Gut Immenhof is not only a good place to go as a hotel guest. Events are organised on regularly base. The Pferdestammbuch Schleswig-Holstein/Hamburg registers mares and foals, there are training courses and seminars, and on July 1st and 2nd 2023 a dressage tournament up to medium (M) level will be held - exactly 100 years after the first competition at Gut Immenhof. The history of this beautiful place lives on!

Renovation work began in 2012, and nine years later in 2021 the first hotel guests arrived. 50 individually and very tastefully furnished rooms, suites and holiday flats await visitors. In addition, there is a large wellness area, two top restaurants, a small museum and farm shop. Everything has been lovingly designed down to the smallest detail. But the most important thing is that ponies and horses have also returned to Immenhof. The riding facility is located directly adjacent to the estate. 21 outdoor stables, a light-flooded historic 20 x 40 metre indoor riding arena, a 30 x 70 metre all weather outdoor arena, lunging circle, winter-proof paddocks, wash boxes and solarium, gallop track, pastures and fantastic riding terrain. The horses feel just as comfortable here as the owners on the estate next door. The riding facility is managed by Frank Weißenberg. The master of horse management and dressage trainer is a judge and has himself been successful in competitions up to the highest classes. His focus is on classical dressage training and many of his students are successful up to advanced level. 14 “Immenhof horses” are available for riding lessons at the facility. The horses, between five and 18 years old, are all well trained.

They are regularly ridden by Frank Weißenberg and his two trainees, and there is a suitable companion for the first riding attempts as well as for ambitious further training. For example, there is a successful advanced (S) level dressage horse, but also a reliable partner from eventing who has collected ribbons up to elementary (L) level in national competitions.

As soon as you arrive at the recently opened Hotel Gut Immenhof, you feel that this is a very special and magical place. The estate at Kellersee lake in Schleswig-Holstein has been well known since the 1950s. It was the setting for three of five "Immenhof" movies, in which the sisters Dick and Dalli and their ponies experienced all kinds of adventures on Grandma Jantzen's estate. Today guests are welcomed and taken care of in a first-class manner.
